Ryde is a Victorian town and many of the buildings in town are Grade II listed and therefore very old and with varying degrees of accessibility for wheelchairs users. But Ryde has plenty of restaurants and cafes in town, and many are accessible.
Here's some useful accessibility information for the venues hosting entertainment for the festival.
Two wide steps lead from the street into Royal Victoria Arcade. This is a ground floor only retail space, and is where some of our vendors and pop-up entertainers are located. There are no toilets located in the arcade.
The daytime festival site on Ryde's seafront is fairly flat with a mix of grassed areas and tarmac paths, so accessible for wheelchair users. This is where the outdoor stage and daytime activities take place. An accessible toilet is also provided here.
There are 6 wide steps from the street into the entrance lobby and reception of the hotel. Ramp access is at the rear of the hotel, in via the Function Room. A disabled toilet is located on the first floor, accessed by lift from reception, but no further steps. The Function Room, where Friday and Saturday's evening entertainment is being held, is on the ground floor and level with the hotel's entrance lobby. Drinks will be available to purchase here. To access Harry's Bar - the hotel's main bar - is accessed through the dining room (one step down from the entrance lobby), and then a further 3 steps to the bar itself.
